Mississipi Accredited Diploma

In 1986, Mississippi adopted a new education program. Since then, the state's high schools have increased in overall quality and the number of graduates. The number of college-bound high school graduates is also on the rise. This article will go over Mississippi's requirements for graduation.

Mississippi ranks as one of the top nine states in gains made over the last decade in the number of students attending college, according to  prepare students even better for the future, a state committee is looking at how to get more Mississippi students to take tougher courses especially in their senior year. They also suggested adding a fourth year of science and social studies and increasing the number of required credits for graduation. For now, students are highly encouraged to take tougher Advanced Placement (AP) courses. These courses not only enrich and challenge each student; the courses also offer college-level credit. The following will go over some the state's minimum curriculum for high school graduation.
